The Solace is a new addiction recovery center and resort in Kota Kinabalu, East Malaysia. It opens its doors in February of 2014 as the first and only forty-bed luxury treatment resort in Asia. The Solace offers primary care and a one-year recovery program and the resort itself is near East Malaysia’s beautiful sandy beaches and exotic scenery.
The Solace’s unique program and tropical locations offers many activities to help clients through their recovery process. Rock climbing, horseback riding, paragliding, jungle trekking, fishing, white water rafting, mountain biking, and snorkeling are some of the unique opportunities that The Solace’s location presents. There are also butterfly sanctuaries, crocodile farms, and opportunities to see the local wildlife.
Dr. David Powell, the Assistant Clinical Professor for Yale University’s School of Medicine and long-time columnist for Counselor magazine, is searching for psychologists, addiction counselors, recovery support coaches, and primary care physicians to fill available posts at the brand new resort. “Experience one of the most interesting locations and treatment programs in the world,” he writes.
