Resilience: Our Gift to the World

The last three years have been challenging for America, with compounding tensions and stressors (The Exceptional Parent, 2020). The COVID pandemic is just one of the many problems Americans have had to face, including the emergence of other dangerous viruses, some of which were previously thought to have been eradicated. Global warming is also a major concern, with its effects causing havoc with water supplies and weather patterns. The political climate in America is tense, and many fear that the nation is on the brink of a civil war. Additionally, overdoses, homelessness, and crime continue to rise, while the cost of living is increasing, leaving Americans struggling to get ahead. The “American Dream” seems less and less attainable (The Exceptional Parent, 2020).
