- Sierra Tucson welcomes Jaime W. Vinck, MC, LPC, NCC, as their new chief clinical officer, and Rich Appert as the new director of intake. - Sovereign Behavioral Health opens a women’s treatment center in Chandler, Arizona. The new center will provide a specialized track for trauma in addition to addiction, dual-diagnosis, and behavioral health treatment. Read more by clicking here.
- Sure Haven, a California treatment center for women, teams up with Solid Landings Behavioral Health’s outdoor-based wellness program. The Solid Landings Peaks and Valleys wilderness program includes mountain climbing, camping, fishing, boating, and hiking. Read more by clicking here.
- SAMHSA awards up to $743 million in funding to substance abuse and mental health disorders prevention programs for children and youth. The programs are attempting to expand and improve behavioral health services, among other goals. Read more by clicking here.
- NIDA announces that the 2015 National Drug Facts Week will take place January 26 through February 1, 2015. National Drug Facts Week brings teens and experts together to debunk myths about drug use and addiction. Read more by clicking here.
- SAMHSA awards up to $1.4 million in supplemental funding to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (Lifeline). The funding will be used to allow Lifeline to expand online chat services from twelve hours a day to 24/7. Read more by clicking here.
- Acadia Healthcare plans to acquire CRC Health Group, the largest provider of behavioral health services in the US. The acquisition should close in the first quarter of 2015. Read more by clicking here.
