Recovery icon John Bradshaw was greeted with a standing ovation at U.S. Journal Training’s (USJT’s) 2nd International Conference on Sex and Love Addiction held November 12–14 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Bradshaw, regarded as one of the most influential authorities on emotional health in the twentieth century, presented a lecture based on his newly released book, Post-Romantic Stress Disorder: What to Do When the Honeymoon is Over (HCI Books). Bradshaw has authored several international best-sellers over the past thirty years, including Bradshaw on the Family, Healing the Shame that Binds You, and Homecoming.

Bradshaw is reenergized and plans to participate in several upcoming USJT conferences next year, including the 36th annual Training Institute on Behavioral Health and Addictive Disorders, held February 9–12, in Clearwater Beach, FL.

On behalf of the American Foundation for Addiction Research (AFAR) Conference Chair, Dr. Patrick Carnes presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to his long-time friend and colleague, John Bradshaw. A second award for outstanding research was presented to keynote speaker, Dr. Bessel van der Kolk who discussed his recent work, The Body Knows the Score: Mind, Brain, & Body in Healing Trauma.

Bradshaw and both Drs. Carnes and van der Kolk are all Senior Fellows at The Meadows. The Meadows and Caron Treatment Centers cohosted the conference.
