Carfentanil: The Military’s Secret Chemical Agent

Carfentanil, a dangerous adulterant covertly added to batches of illegal street heroin, was examined in the previous issue of Counselor (Furek, 2017). Carfentanil “is a synthetic opioid that is ten thousand times stronger than morphine and one hundred times more potent than fentanyl, another deadly synthetic opioid” (MacQuarrie, 2016).
