- SAMHSA creates the Office of Tribal Affairs and Policy (OTAP) to address behavioral health concerns facing American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) populations in the US. - Promises Austin, a holistic addiction treatment center near Austin, Texas, welcomes Craig Franke, MD, back as medical director. His experience is in treating addiction, trauma, and mental health issues at various hospitals and treatment centers. Read more by clicking here.
- Caron Treatment Centers welcomes David Rotenberg as executive vice president of treatment at the Pennsylvania location. - Hazelden Betty Ford unveils the Nurses Professionals Program, a special adjunct of the Health Care Professionals Program that will specifically address the needs of nurses suffering from substance abuse. - Ever Changing Minds (ECM) announces its new online network, which will allow patients to choose from a community of counselors and therapists without worrying about location. - The California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) is announcing that certification, registration, and membership fees will be waived for all addiction and other drug professionals in California if they sign up before January 1, 2015. Read more by clicking here.
- Rogers Memorial Hospital welcomes Cuong Chi Tieu, MD, as the new medical director to its Child Center in Oconomowoc, WI. Dr. Tieu specializes in treating children and adolescents with emotional, learning, and/or behavioral difficulties and is board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry.
