Since 1979, addiction and mental health professionals have gathered each winter in Clearwater Beach, Florida, for what is widely regarded as one of the preeminent training conferences in our field.
The 36th Training Institute on Behavioral Health and Addictive Disorders, Feb 9–12, 2015, kicks off another jam-packed year of events across the country orchestrated by U.S. Journal Training, The Institute for Integral Development, and Counselor magazine.
With up to twenty-three credit hours offered, this year’s institute—cohosted by American Addiction Centers—will focus on such topics as trauma and PTSD, depression and bipolar Issues, neurosciences and therapy, co-occurring disorders, the brain and addiction, effective therapy strategies, and the mind-body connection.
Among the keynote speakers is renowned author, counselor, and motivational speaker
John Bradshaw, who will discuss his new book,
Post-Romantic Stress Disorder. PRSD, says Bradshaw, is a deeply serious psychological disorder and the cause of 40 percent of divorces “which could have been avoided.”
